Kim’s passion for environmental and wildlife conservation stems from her love for animals. She is an aspiring ecologist who hopes to transform this passion into actionable change in the Australian landscape.

This led her to study a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Melbourne. Early in her career, Kim has been committed to broadening the depth of her knowledge and practical experiences in the environmental space. She has volunteered with Bush Heritage Australia, Nangak Tamboree Wildlife Sanctuary and at a wildlife shelter. More recently, she was a part of a seasonal planting crew on the Kumarangk Hindmarsh Island in South Australia.

Growing up, Kim has spent a lot of her time hiking and camping around the Great Ocean Road. More recently, she was a field volunteer for other students’ Honours projects, one including the monitoring of mammal behaviour around campsites in the Otways. The opportunity to be part of CEC and their projects around the Great Otway National Park on Gadabanud Country, are super meaningful to her, as she gets to contribute to the research and management in an area that holds great significance to her upbringing.
