Nausheen Mazari

Intern

Nausheen completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Wildlife Conservation at the University of Sydney in 2025. During and following her studies, she has worked and volunteered with various environmental management organisations and contributed to ecological research.

She most recently volunteered as a Field Assistant with a university-based behavioural ecology lab on zebra finch monitoring, conducting bird banding, radio tracking, and observational studies to better understand their ecology and behaviour in the wild. She has also valued her role in community outreach at a not-for-profit organisation, which has deepened her understanding of inclusive and collaborative approaches to conservation.

Nausheen has enjoyed the diversity of fieldwork in the Otway region, from coastal sites to the Carlisle heathlands and rainforests. She is keen to continue expanding her knowledge and skills in applied conservation during her internship at the CEC. She is grateful to live and work in the Otways on Gadubanud Country, where immersion in its diverse landscapes continually reminds her of the vital role of conservation and stewardship of Country.
