Located in the heart of the Otways, at the midway along the Great Ocean Road, the Conservation Ecology Centre serves as a leading voice for conservation in the region, brining people and organisations together to protect and restore these precious landscapes.

Established in 2000, the CEC is dedicated to ensuring the Otways remain healthy, resilient, and thriving for generations to come.

Through innovative, cross-tenure collaboration and a unified conservation strategy, the Centre generates vital knowledge to guide the protection of the region’s unique biodiversity.

Our work is grounded in the knowledge and leadership of Traditional Owners and underpinned by rigorous scientific research. We share our findings widely to support conservation efforts both locally and across Australia.

Our ecotourism social enterprise, Wildlife Wonders, is located on the Great Ocean Road in Apollo Bay. It offers a powerful platform to share these stories, inspiring deeper connections between people and nature. It not only fosters greater public understanding of conservation but also generates critical funding to support the CEC’s ongoing work.
